Fallen wings are for the hot rod legends souls that have gone before us. The cross reminds us that with God anything you envision can be accomplished. It was the symbol used on the worlds most successful navigators ships who ventured into unknown Waters to broaden are horizons. 1959 was the year I was born, that’s when the world of hot rod culture began for me. The Heart and Soul of Southern California is where it all started…Soul Cal.

Well its that big Viva week end and it seem’s real quiet in this town no one around, real lonely….Ho, ya theres a few of what I call cotton candy rod’s driving around but whose counting those, No I’m talking real vintage hot rods are nowhere to be found. All the hot little pin-up gals are nowhere around and theres no sound of burn outs to be heard, no smell of rubber from burn-outs Damn It!.. I’m missing VIVA! Sitting here searching through Facebook for the first look of road trip pic’s or any sign of life out there, but NO! there all driving to VIVA! Walking around the garage and even the hot rods seem to be looking at me and crying out ..take me please!…Voices in my head of sounds of rockabilly music and the roaring of engines, the clicking of shutters from near by cameras and the smell of beer all over the front of my shirt? and me saying to my self screw it it’s just a rat rod show!… VIVA! But NO! instead I’m here with the rest of the few who stayed behind and told themselves maybe next year! Ya right, I just hope next year come’s soon!… Damn, wish I was in Vegas!…VIVA!

Doug decided to splash the dash of or 1934 rat truck and as always he gives us a bad ass design and lines that sets the dash off! We would like to thank Hoffmans Radiator for there hospitality and allowing us to park and hang out in his lot, it is the best location to be in and this has been or second year, sure hope were back there next year. when your in town stop by and say hello to the crew. http://www.hoffmanradiator.com/

Officially a human rat rod

Posted: March 6, 2011 in Uncategorized

Well I think this whole rat rod think is out of control, yes I can see a little fun with taking a part from a Caddy and putting it on a Chevy or a motor from a Buick and shoving it in a Ford all that is fun stuff but as of Thursday march 3rd I became the human rat rod, a old worn out hip removed and replaced with some high grade titanium parts. Just out of surgery and walking down the hospital hallway 3 hours later, now, thats how you build them! Rolling in to that room and seeing all the team ,tools over there, pulleys over here and monitor setting ready to go, this reminded me a lot of my hot rod shop with a few old buddy’s over to help out with the build. I lived with pain daily for 15 years this has been a life changing experience. The most professional friendly staff in any organization I have ever witnessed. Robert S. Gorab, M.D. of Hoag Orthopedic Instutude Irvine, CA. and the entire Total Joint Team , Thank you. I would like to thank all of my family and friends for all there prayers and support. Your words of encouragement will help me get back on my feet much sooner. To my wife and my children for there ongoing patients and putting up with me on my grumpy most painful days, Thanks gang!
